End of School Disco

The Yarram Agricultural Society is holding a Primary School Aged Disco at the Yarram Regent Theatre as a fundraiser for the 2019 Yarram Show. Children from all primary school are welcome to attend, and all children must be signed in and out by a parent or legal guardian. Younger siblings are also welcome, but they must be supervised by parents. Cost is $5 per child, and there will be a small canteen available, as well as glow products for sale. Tickets are now available for the Welshpool and District Primary School fundraiser, “Girl's Night Out.” The Moons bus will be leaving Welshpool from 5:45pm to head to Leongatha, stopping in Welshpool, Port Welshpool, Toora, Foster, and Fish Creek. Dinner at the RSL in Leongatha will kick off the night, followed by viewing “Rocketman” at the Leongatha cinema. Tickets are $15 per person. RSVP and payment due the 6th June. Sew Into Overlocking

This one-day, 5-6 hour course gives students a greater understanding of their overlocker and allows them to continue using it at home confidently. The kit provided covers a comprehensive 23 page booklet and all fabrics required for the day. The course covers four thread overlocking, three thread overlocking, rolled hem, understanding differential feed, techniques for better results when stitching a circle, corners, and working with difficult fabrics. Places will be limited, so please call us on 5182 5085 and have your credit card details handy if you would like to book in. The cost is $135 for the class, or $150 if you would like a catered lunch pack from Cafe Aga. We need at least 4 people for the class to run, but we have a maximum of 8.

Yarram Dance Eisteddfod

Yarram Dance Experience are celebrating their 18th year with their annual dance eisteddfod on May 17th-19th at the beautiful Regent Theatre, Yarram. Dancers come from all over Gippsland, Bass Coast and Melbourne for this 3 day competition. Competition sessions are Friday 8am, 1pm and 6pm, Saturday 8am, 1pm and 6pm and Sunday 8am and 1pm. The dancers compete in all aspects of dance: Classical, Neo-Classical, Tap, National, Song and Dance, Jazz/Modern, Contemporary, Character, Own Choreography solos, duos/trios and troupes.

Easter in Port Albert

Port Albert will be hosting activities all day. The day begins at 9am with the Make It, Bake It, Grow It market until 1pm.

The museum will be having an ‘Offshore and Specialist Ships’ exhibit running from 10am until 4pm.

From 11am until 6pm, there will be an Easter in the Park event at Rutter Park with a circus workshop, a stage for kids to show off their talents, food vans, a ukulele workshop and more, all for free.

From 6pm onwards will be a lantern and fireworks show, with the fireworks starting at 8pm as well as fire acrobats showing their talents. Food will be available. There will also be a bus going between Yarram Memorial Park and Port Albert every 30 minutes.
